Guest Services Bell Staff JOB SUMMARY:
The Bell person is responsible for assisting guests with luggage, valet, and minor concierge assistance.
Guest Services Transportation OB SUMMARY:
Transportation will ensure safe and informative transportation to and from various attractions on and off Moody Gardens property.
Front Desk Assistant Front Desk Manager Assist the Director of the Front Desk in directing and supervising the operational activities of the hotel’s front desk within corporate and hotel guidelines to provide the highest standards of courteous service while permitting acceptable profit levels. Act as Front Desk Manager in the absence of said individual.

Department Position Description
Internship Program Intern Gain first-hand knowledge in the hospitality industry while spending a semester in a unique island resort setting. Moody Gardens’ goal is to help our interns gain a broader understanding of the industry and how to provide a memorable guest experience.  To achieve this goal, interns focus on a specific department while rotating to a new department one day a week to gain experience in all areas of hotel management.

COCKTAIL SERVER:

The Cocktail Server is responsible for the service of beverages in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Must have TABC and Food Handlers certification.

BARTENDER:

The Bartender is responsible for the service of beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Also to prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests. Must have TABC and Food Handlers certification.

SHEARN’S-SERVER ASSISTANT:

This incumbent is authorized to set up and clear tables, stock all service stations, and assist food servers with table service to ensure total guest satisfaction. Must have TABC and Food Handlers certification.

SHEARN’S HOST/HOSTESS:

The primary purpose of this position is to arrange guest seating assignments to servers. As a front line employee the host/hostess is the director of first impressions. Host/Hostess are expected to provide prompt, courteous, friendly and professional service to all Moody Gardens guests at all times. Host/Hostess are required to be detailed in every aspect of their work while maintaining an efficient pace. Must have TABC and Food Handlers certification.

SERVER:

The Server is responsible for order taking and delivery of any food and beverage items to guests. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional manner resulting in a very high level of guest satisfaction. Must have TABC and Food Handlers certification.

SERVER ASSISTANT:

The Server Assistant is authorized to set up and clear tables, stock all service stations, and assist food servers with table service to ensure total guest satisfaction. Must have TABC and Food Handlers certification.

BEVERAGE MANAGER:

The Beverage Manager is authorized to oversee operation of the pool and lobby bars to ensure complete guest satisfaction. Must have TABC and Food Handlers certification.

The Gift Shop Cashier will ensure proper cash handling procedures are used for gift shop merchandise transactions and will also assist guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
