Venue Information
The Moody Gardens Expo Arena
The 60,000 square foot barrier free arena can seat up to 6,000 people for a concert or event and has state of the art lighting and sound capabilities. It has been designed for outstanding acoustics that enhance all genres of music.
The Moody Gardens Outdoor Amphitheater
The Moody Gardens Outdoor Amphitheater, adjacent to the Convention Center, is Moody Garden’s newest venue nestled between Palm Beach, Offats Bayou and the majestic pyramids. The Amphitheater will feature nationally known concert artists from many musical genre.
Concerts on the Gulf
The Concerts on the Gulf series is a joint collaboration between Moody Gardens and Island Star Performances to bring nationally acclaimed artists and an array of high caliber special events to Galveston Island.

Ticket Purchasing and Box Office Information
Tickets for all concerts and events at the Expo Arena and Outdoor Amphitheater are available for purchase by phone at 800-298-4200, online at concertsonthegulf.com, and in person through the
Concerts on the Gulf Box Office located at the Front Desk of the Moody Gardens Hotel.
The Concerts on the Gulf Box Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. The box office accepts Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express & Discover.
A second box office for both will call and the purchase of tickets will be open at the venue site at 9:00am on the day of the event.
Will Call
Will Call Tickets are available for pick up four hours before the start of the concert. The Outdoor Amphitheater will call window is located at the west entry of the Amphitheater. The Expo Arena will call desk is located at the south entry of the Arena adjacent to the parking garage.
Age Limit
The Expo Arena and the Outdoor Amphitheater are open to all ages and all children ages 3 and over are required to have a ticket to have access to an event.
Food and Beverage
Both venues have full food and beverage concessions including beer and wine. You must be 21 years of age to purchase and consume alcoholic beverages. All patrons under the age of 30 are required to have a Texas State Photo ID to purchase alcoholic beverages. No outside food or beverages will be allowed in the Moody Gardens Expo Arena or Outdoor Amphitheater.
Gates, Concert Times
The Expo Arena and the Outdoor Amphitheater will open for concert admission two hours before the event time listed on your ticket. Concert times will vary by artist and event.
Rain or Shine Policy
All events and concerts at the Outdoor Amphitheater are designated Rain or Shine, meaning that the concert or event will take place regardless of weather. Events may be delayed to allow weather to pass, but unless Moody Gardens cancels the show there will be no weather related refunds or exchanges of tickets. There is no rain protection in the seating areas of the Outdoor Amphitheater. Ponchos, but not Umbrellas are permitted.
Parking Information
Ample free parking for all events in the Expo Arena and the Outdoor Amphitheater is available in non-reserved covered and uncovered parking areas adjacent to both venues. Some concerts may have specific areas of reserved parking as part of premium seating packages.
Concert Admissions
For the general safety of our guests:
- All carried items, including bags, are subject to search. No large bags or backpacks are permitted in either the Expo Arena or the Outdoor Amphitheater.
- Guests who do not agree to be searched will be denied entry to the Expo Arena and the Outdoor Amphitheater
- Blankets are allowed at the Outdoor Amphitheater, subject to venue approval. No blankets are allowed in the Expo Arena.
- Lawn chairs without the carry bag are allowed at the Outdoor Amphitheater for some but not all shows. (See Lawn Chair Policy for more details)
- Re-entry to the Expo Arena and the Outdoor Amphitheater will not be permitted without appropriate ticket, wristband or stamp. The venue reserves the right to change this policy at any time.
Seating Options
The Outdoor Amphitheater
The Outdoor Amphitheater offers Premium Seating & Festival Lawn for most shows and events. Premium Seating provides chairs directly in front of the stage that are unassigned and filled on a first come, first serve basis. Festival Lawn does not provide chairs and space is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Patrons are allowed to bring blankets & lawn chairs without carry bags for most shows. The capacity of the Outdoor Amphitheater is 6,000.
The Expo Arena
Concerts in the Expo Arena will be sold as either general admission or reserved seating.
For General Admission concerts, all ticket holders will have an unassigned seat. General Admission events may have up to three tiers of pricing with higher tier priced tickets closer to the stage. All general admission seating will be on a first come, first serve basis within each tier classification.
For Reserved Seating concerts, patrons will have a specific seat assigned within a specific pricing tier with higher priced seats closer to the stage. The capacity of the Expo Arena is 6,000.
