TripAdvisor - November 2016

We visited the second weekend in November to kick off our holiday season. We got their Family Holiday Package for one night. The lobby is beautifully decorated for Christmas. At check-in my children each received a bag with a little stuffed animal. They were obviously cheap but it's the thought that counts?? We had a room with a view of the pyramids. It was beautiful and their rooms are so bright and cheerful.

With our package we got four two-day passes for the attractions. We went to the visitor's center and got our passes. We had to choose a time for the ICE exhibit and it was available right then, so that was the first thing we did. We have attended a similar ICE exhibit at a different hotel in North Texas and I must say, the one at Moody Gardens was better organized and a much more pleasant experience. Our only issue was that my husband and I had on sandals since we had been to the beach that morning. It didn't occur to me that it was going to be 9 degrees in there! Oh my goodness our feet got so cold. The ICE exhibit was AMAZING. The whole family loved it...cold feet and all!

After ICE, we visited the pyramids. The aquarium pyramid was under construction and really a waste of our time. We enjoyed the dinner buffet at the café in the hotel. Then we headed out for the Christmas Light walk. It was fabulous! The walk is about a mile but there are lots of places to stop and lots of snacks along the way.

When we got back to our room our beds had been turned down and there was a cute little stocking of goodies for each of my daughters (5 and 7 years old). My 5 year old was quite convinced that Santa had been there and left it for her. The stockings contained a candy cane, pencil and other little goodies. They did contain a kazoo. Obviously whoever had put these cute little gifts together has never been trapped in a room with a 5 and 7 year old with kazoos. Oy Vey!

My husband and I thought this holiday package was totally worth it and a great way for our family to kick of the season. This is going to become a holiday tradition for our family.
