EXECUTIVE CHEF - Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, an associate’s degree or vocational equivalent or higher in a post-secondary or culinary school.  Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a full-service hotel Chef and a minimum of 2 years as a full-service hotel Executive Sous Chef or Executive Chef.

PREP/PANTRY/LINE COOKS - Previous experience in an institutional kitchen a big plus. Must be able to work any shift and be dependable.

DISHWASHER - Previous experience with industrial washing machine equipment strongly preferred. Must possess a flexible schedule and strong work ethic.

Galveston’s Top Hotel & Convention Center is Looking for Energetic & Bright Students to Join the Moody Gardens Team

Want to see if the career path you have chosen is right for you? Become an intern at Moody Gardens Hotel and put your studies to use while working in a world-class resort, spa and convention center. Moody Gardens offers a paid internship program that provides daily work experience guaranteed to educate interns on the company culture and philosophy. Moody Gardens’ internships are offered in several areas throughout the company and may vary by job description or availability.

Moody Gardens Hotel recognizes and acknowledges the need to provide interns with adequate training and knowledge to succeed in the hospitality industry. We recognize the value of our interns and are always looking to hire interns as Moody Gardens employees.

Interns will be exposed to multiple areas of Moody Gardens Hotel including:  front desk, reservations, guest services, spa, pool bar, lobby bars, The Terrace Restaurant, Harbormaster, night audit, banquets, housekeeping and children’s programs. Moody Gardens looks for interns who are bright, energetic, possess good communication skills, have great attention to detail and able to relate to guests and co-workers.

Spring Internships: Available from January – May. Students must commit for the entire term and must plan to work during any holidays or weekends over that period.

Summer Internships: Available from May-August. Students must commit for the entire term and must plan to work during any holidays or weekends over that period.

Fall Internships: Available from September – November. Students must commit for the entire term and must plan to work during any holidays or weekends over that period.

Moody Gardens’ intern program offers:

  • A full-time staff level position at a minimum $9.00 per hour.
  • One or two job rotations (Depending on the time at the resort).
  • Exposure to management and supervisory functions.
  • Housing assistance with furnished apartments at a great price.
  • Hotel tours/ Enrichment outings/ Events
  • An on-site advisor/counselor
  • A great opportunity for references
